The children spotted a number of birds as well as boats sailing on the water and aeroplanes flying to and from London City airport opposite.

Merry Christmas and a happy New Years from everyone at Early Years Childcare Haywards Heath!

We dressed up in a assortment of festive outfits from home made Christmas elephants to Santa and his little helpers. We also welcomed Father Christmas himself and all the children were very brave, telling him what they wanted for Christmas and running away once they had received their present.

Our nursery cook Anna also prepared a delicious Christmas tea where the whole nursery ate together in the Tigers room and listened to festive music.

We can hardly believe that the last twenty two years have flown by so quickly, but we have achieved so much during that time, growing from a single site nursery in Dyke Road Avenue, Hove to being ranked one of the top 20 nursery chains in the country based on the number of places we offer.

Each of our nine nurseries is unique and special and we’re proud of our fantastic staff both at the nurseries and at head office for their effort, enthusiasm and commitment over the years.

Children from the Badgers family room helped Senior Practitioner Sam decorate the Christmas tree today with baubles and fairy lights ahead of their Christmas craft evening on Friday 2^nd December, where there will be craft activities, mince pies, mulled wine and a raffle and for parents and children to enjoy.

The children got fully involved and helped make the gunge to throw over their nursery manager followed by wet sponges, making every one giggle.

Children in the Tiger family room carried on their Children in Need themed activities by making Pudsey masks and yellow play doh.  The staff and parents raised £55 in the end which was well over their target so well done to everyone, especially Rebecca!

The Early Years Childcare team were in full force at the Brighton BabyExpo on Sunday 12^th November, with our very own stall in a prime location, a play area for children, free prize draw full of special toys and goodies for parent’s to win and our brilliant team of Early Years pirates who paraded the stadium giving out chocolate coins, crayons and prize draw entries.

Bridget our Education Co-ordinator along with members of the Early Years team also pulled in the curious crowds at the ‘Parent’s Pit Stop’ with their heuristic play demonstration session. The children loved the session and we hope that it inspired parents to go home and set up their own heuristic play – find out how to here.

The lucky winner of our free prize draw was Grandmother Jackie Smith from Brighton who was delighted to win the treasure chest of prizes but not as delighted as her grandson will be went he sees what is in it we doubt!

Jolly good fun was had by all; we can’t wait until next year!

The children got involved by making their own poppies and took part in the two minute silence. All the children remained quiet during this time; even if they had to physically cover their own mouths!
